1. Activated Charcoal
– Indications: Poison, Drug Overdose
– Contraindications: Activated charcoal should not be combined with petroleum, metals, essential oils, or acids.
– Dosage/Route: 1g per kg of patient’s weight/Oral
2. Albuterol
– Indications: Difficulty breathing (due to bronchoconstriction), wheezing
– Contraindications: Hypersensitivity, Tachycardia, Dysrrhythmia
– Dosage/Route: 2.5 – 5g (adult); 1.25 – 2.5g (pediatric)/Inhalation
3. Aspirin
– Indications: Chest pain with cardiac roots (e.g. acute coronary syndrome)
– Contraindications: asthma, taking blood thinners, altered mental status
– Dosage/Route: 324mg (4 x 81mg chewable tablets)/oral
4. Epinephrine
– Indications: Anaphylaxis
– Dosage/Route: 0.3mg (adult); 0.15mg (pediatric)/Intramuscular
